Nacra 5.8 - Main Batten Set
Made from a rugged 1" wide fiberglass batten with stiffening ribs in a "Saturn" profile, the battens are each cut to fit the standard sail, with forward ends tapered slightly for a secure fit in the luff batten receptacles on the sail. They include end caps installed for easy adjustment, and tie-in to the grommets in the leech end of your batten pocket (lash-in lines not provided).

The batten set for the Nacra 5.8 is designed to support the roach of the sail and maintain the sail as a smooth airfoil. Made from pultruded fiberglass, they feature a "Saturn-like" profile that adds stiffness while minimizing weight. Slightly longer than the batten pockets in the sail, they are secured by lashing the sail's tie-in lines through the attached endcap on the aft end of the batten. More durable than lighter battens, they will provide years of enjoyment.
